FIRE RESCUE SERVICES ADMINISTRATIVE BRANCH

      This Branch forms the Leadership of the Fire Service and includes those activities not immediately directly related to FRS operational activities. This branch exercises overall authority, supervision and management of FRS activities. It develops operating procedures plans and checklists for implement all FRS requirements in accordance with the Airport Operations Manual and emergency planning. It identifies budgets and plans for all FRS Extinguishing Agents Equipment and supply requirements. It maintains all statistical data of Fire Responses and Fire Rescue Incidents. Through the training section it assures that FRS staff are trained and certified to the competency level required by their position and that effective OJT and proficiency continuity training programs are in place.


FIRE RESCUE SERVICES OPERATIONS BRANCH

      The Fire Rescue Services Branch provides immediate response to all fire and rescue related emergencies on the airport including: Aircraft accidents, structure fires, vehicle fires motor vehicle accidents extrication/rescue calls, and hazardous material response. 275 firefighters  housed in 2 primary, 3 Satellite Fire Stations and the Administrative HQ, staff this department. A sixth station is seasonally manned during UMRA and HAJ when activity in this response area peaks. On duty fire fighters man Eleven (11) Airfield Rescue Firefighting Vehicles (ARFF),  One  (1) RIVs, Two (4) Pumpers, two (2) Aerial platforms, Light and Heavy rescue Vehicles and a Hazardous material response unit.


FIRE RESCUE SERVICES PARAMEDICAL SECTION

      The Paramedical Branch provides immediate response to all medical and traumatic emergencies that occur on the airport. Emergency Assistance is also provided in the immediate surrounding off airport area on request. Paramedical Services also assist airlines in patient transfer/trans port operations. The Paramedical Branch is staffed with Paramedic Supervisors, Paramedics and Ambulance Attendants/drivers. The branch staffs 4 Ambulances and two Disaster Preparedness Medical Equipment Trailers. During Mass Casualty Incidents and Disasters, the paramedics establish and staff  Triage and treatment areas.


F&R SERVICES TECHNICAL/FIRE PREVENTION SECTION

      The Fire Prevention Section offers a wide range of effective professional fire prevention and life safety services and programs for the airport community. This is done through the application and enforcement of sound fire protection engineering practices, the application of consistent and impartial code application recommendations, placement and maintenance of fire extinguishers and the use of educational programs designed to heighten fire safety awareness and appropriate preventive actions. The Fire Prevention Branch also investigates all fires to determine cause and origin in an effort to prevent future recurrences.
